Oiva Toikka

The other day, May 29th, was Oiva Toikka's birthday. And ahead of that, Iittala released the new "The Curious Mind of Oiva Toikka collection" on May 18th.

Oiva is the designer of Kastehelmi, a brand that I think any Iittala fan would have at least one of.

This series was released in 1964 and reissued in 2010, and is still loved by many people today.

Including past releases, there are a wide variety of products available in different sizes, shapes, and colors.

And speaking of the many products they have produced, I think many people first think of the Bird series when they think of OIva.

To date, over 400 different works have been created.

As he says, "Birds are the perfect motif for expressing the beauty of glass," he has created a wide variety of beautiful birds with different expressions and shapes.
