BRIO Cars

The red wooden car in the photo is a BRIO toy that I found in a vintage shop in Stockholm that I visited last year.

When my son first turned three, we visited Finland and Sweden in the winter. Of course, the main purpose was to do some shopping, but we also wanted my son to fall in love with Scandinavia, so we looked for parks with play equipment and made sure to have time for him to enjoy himself. There was a lot of snow in Helsinki, so we had fun playing in the snow and he came back with lots of fond memories.

While I was looking around for items to buy, my husband and son spent the time looking for bargain toys. That's when I found this BRIO car. I think it was about 600 yen, and it was in good condition, so it was a real bargain.

And just recently, more than a year after we bought it, we noticed that there was a Mickey Mouse hidden in this car... or rather, my son had known about it for a while and only told us about it recently! If you look closely, you can definitely see what look like Mickey's silhouettes lined up in front of the car...

After some research, I found out that this was part of a set product and that Mickey Mouse was originally supposed to be riding in this car.

I am always amazed by the insight of children, but this incident really impressed me: they really do have a keen eye for things.

It's been almost two years since then. My son is almost five years old. To be honest, it was a hard trip for us parents, so we stopped going. But my son keeps saying "I want to go again!" so I think it's about time we planned another trip.

I also feel a little excited at the thought that this child, who is free from evil and greed, will find something good again.

Can I go when there is snow?
